Our Story
Once upon a time, Precious Ross gave Ariana Fuselier and Candis Aldridge sourdough starters. Ariana named her sourdough starters Betty Lou and Elly Rose and Candis named her sourdough starter Ally Mae. One night, Ariana, Candis, and Tyler (Candis’ husband) made homemade sourdough pizzas and they were delicious! So Ariana threw out an idea, “Hey I never heard of sourdough pizzas being sold before, so why not try to sell them at a farmer’s market!” Candis loved the idea, and all together they came up with Rise & Shine Sourdough Co. With all glory to God, Rise & Shine Sourdough Co. hit their very first farmer’s market (picture shown at DeCock Farms) on September 16th, 2023 and the rest is all history!
Later on, they paired up with Elijah Chastain who is the founder of Guajillo Lime Homemade Salsa. And Elijah is a main contributor to Rise & Shine’s Sourdough Co.’s success.

The Importance Of Our Slogan!
I Will Rise Again Micah 7:8
DID YOU KNOW THAT your sourdough starter is actually alive…LIVING! AND HOW CAN THAT BE…well it is declared a culture of microorganisms that are alive and conduct their own biological activity. And when it comes to sourdough starters like our Betty Lou, Ally Mae, and Elly Rose (our sourdough starter names) they need to be fed daily. Once we feed Betty Lou, Ally Mae, and Elly Rose they start to inflate…GROW because they become happy and fulfilled. However, once we stop feeding them, they start to deflate…become sluggish. And if you think about it sourdough is just like us when it comes to our relationship with God. We, humans, have a desperate desire to feel loved and in order to feel that love we so desperately search for the desire to know God…constantly seeking after Him…a desperate need to be in Jesus’ presence. A desire to know the Lord is being fed by the Holy Spirit, taking up the cross daily. And when we don’t get fed by the Holy Spirit daily, we start to feel sluggish, deflate, and get a sense of feeling empty inside…our light starts to go dim. If you ever felt that feeling, it is not fun. BUT if you take that step to be fed by the Holy Spirit (reading the bible, praying, seeking after God, talking to Jesus, and worshiping and praising God) You Start To Rise Again…seeing the light again and feeling that love you so desperately search for. Your thoughts and your heart start to change for the better because your faith is GROWING in Him…getting stronger and brighter every time you decide to take up the cross.
Do not gloat over me, my enemies! For though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light.
